After a long hiatus, I’m back. I know you really missed me -_-.
Ines Sainz and Jenn Sterger.
Both “reporters” are very beautiful individuals—and that’s the root of all the controversy in the sports world.
The New York Jets love blondes and Brett Favre loves brunettes.
Who doesn’t?
However, the footballers’ multitasking has seemed to get the best of them.
For Favre, the worst of him. After the reports that the “ole gunslinger” cried in front of his teammates while apologizing for being a distraction to their organization, I couldn’t help but wonder why in the world athletes put themselves in these situations. Certain situations that question their judgement and character. Then I thought some more. Well….it is Favre. His career has been dramatic ever since his first complete pass was to himself. Should I be as surprised with Brett Favre’s actions as I was with Tiger Woods? No. I am more surprised, but I’m not at the same time. Let me explain my confusion.
NFL record holder for career touchdowns, games won and consecutive starts, Favre is also the NFL record holder for most interceptions. Gambling and fitting balls into tight windows in secondaries is what Favre does best. So in a month when it’s Breast Cancer awareness month (celebrating women and their survival from cancer), it would only be natural to have Favre’s past indiscretions come back to bite him in the ass. This was supposed to be a time when Favre was celebrating his wife’s accomplishments, not Jenn Sterger’s success of contributing to the downfall of a high profile athlete. It would only be fitting that his gamble came at a time when he was facing the Jets. In a game that was supposed to be about Randy Moss. Once again, it was all about Favre and that’s what he and ESPN love more than anything in the world.
Now in the Jets case, their troubles were a collective effort. It would only be right after watching HBO’s hit series “Hard Knocks”, that their aggressive and arrogant style of play during training camp caught everyone’s eye. Including the “Mother Teresa” of football, Tony Dungy. From cussing every five seconds to working out with the “shake weight”, the Jets were more entertaining than watching Kurt Warner trying to dance. Either you loved their care free attitude or you hated it. However, like Favre, the Jets gambled with their swagger and style of play—off the field.
While trying to interview Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, Ines Sainz was allegedly hit on by several Jets players. After feeling “uncomfortable” by the situation, Ms. Sainz decided to tell NFL officials. Now she has every right to feel “uncomfortable” and act upon it. I certainly would. However, the common man doesn’t know Ms. Sainz or the back story. All they know is what certain media groups decide to leak out. Thus getting to the bigger picture of this blog—knowing exactly what you’re doing.
In Favre and Sterger’s case, if the accusations are true, Favre is an idiot. However, any intelligent individual should question Sterger’s motives. She worked with the Jets. Favre last week played against the Jets. These texts and pics were allegedly sent more than a year ago. So why leak them out now? And if she didn’t leak them out, why would she allow someone else to leak them out? Why would you even give it to anyone, that isn’t part authorities, to look at it? These are all questions that need to be answered. Now what I do know is, is that in order to receive inappropriate texts, a message needs to be sent out before hand. If I feel “uncomfortable” about a situation, I’ll let you know right then and there. However, Ms. Sterger received multiple texts and pics. So it’s kind of strange that she is mentioning the awkward situation now. Now you have a sense of urgency? Odd.
Now Sainz’s story is more predictable. A very beautiful woman hired to get interviews and the latest news in professional sports gets hit on. Wow, what a surprise. Actually, I am stunned by these developments. Filled with anger really. Especially when you find out she was wearing tight white clothes that were boarder line see-through on the sideline, during the Mark Sanchez interview. Then she is in a locker room filled of half and/or sometimes fully naked men, looking the way she is. Oh yea, I can’t believe any man would do such a horrible thing like hit on a half naked woman. Unbelievable.
Here are the names of the female sideline reporters that have never publicly accused a pro athlete of sexual harassment: Erin Andrews, Andrea Kramer, Michele Tafoya, Suzy Kolber, Rachel Nichols, Jenn Brown and Pam Oliver.
All of these women have a reputation of being professional and understanding each moment, thus acting accordingly. Each woman on that list goes to their job, loving what what they do, using their knowledge to get the story, not their beauty. However, I cannot say the same about Ms. Sainz and Ms. Sterger.
