Allowing homosexuals into the United States military is long over due.
In his State of the Union address last week, President Barack Obama stated that he wanted to change the militaries rules and procedures for letting homosexuals in the military.
“This year, I will work with Congress and our military to finally repeal the law that denies gay Americans the right to serve the country they love because of who they are,” said Obama.
Denying rights? Well we should be used to that. Just ask the women and blacks in this country.
From a military family, on both sides, I know the life and understand the sacrifices a solider must give up.
Being a homosexual should not be one of them.
I have a gay friend, who happened to be in the Army. Did the fact that he was gay take away from his duty as a solider in this great country? No.
According to an article written by the Associated Press, Adm. Mike Mullen has gone record saying that lifting the ban on homosexuals is “the right thing to do.”
Thank you Mr. Mullen.
While there are amazing people trying to make positive changes in our society, there are groups of individuals like the Joints Chiefs of Staff, who looked pissed off with every word that came from the Obama mouth.
One should not be surprised about this shocking revelation. The Joint Chiefs of Staff—most of congress for that matter—is filled with older people set in their ways.
When an old dog is set in his ways and can’t keep up with life’s daily activities, the owner can always put him down. Unfortunately we can’t do that with Congress.
