Apparently, that mindset has changed. Not just with that particular person, but many more.
For that I apologize, but do I really?

See when you have been told, “Andre, you’ll never do anything,” or “You are too ghetto.”
How am I supposed to take this in stride and not be proud of where I am at in my current state of mind?
Some of you may not have seen the hardships I have had in my young 23-year-old life. Some of you may have.
I was born in the ghetto. At no point in my life have I been ghetto or a lazy slug on a couch.
I believe there is a difference between cocky, knowing where you came from and where you are now.
Bad guy? Never.
Rude? Hardly.
Honest? Very.
Stereotyped because of my color and where I am from? All the time. And that’s just not by white folks. Yes, I am talking about black people too.
Maybe before you say I am doing too much or my attitude is overwhelming, ask yourself, where is my mindset?
At least I have confidence in myself to know that no human alive is going to hold me back.
As for you? Your mentality barely cuts the bill for a regular “9 to 5.”
