As the golf world turns

Houston we have a problem!

There were more people watching the NBA All-Star weekend event, H.O.R.S.E., than they were the Pebble Beach Pro-Am.

When Tom Brady’s spectacular skills of an athlete (via golf swing to pass to caddie), makes the highlight for Sportscenter as top plays, the PGA is in trouble.

Tiger, after all, has had the last laugh.

The number one player in the world went from being exiled to an island like Napoleon to everyone begging him to come back.

What has he proven?

He smarter than everyone else.

What we learn from history is that, we don’t learn from history. Tiger is the exception to this rule.

Let’s look at the series of events and Tiger’s checklist:

No news conference airing your mistakes: check

Letting Entertainment Tonight and Extra bicker over the word transgressions because it’s the only thing they can get out of you: check

Not bashing the dozens (literally) of women that put your business out there: check

Letting your wife have some time to herself: check

Going to rehab: check

Fooling all of his mistresses (having them think he loved them, while never giving them any gifts): check

Letting golfers and their organization choke over their words: check

Golf ratings down the drain: check

Sticking it to the “man”: check

The hardest question of the early year is, who has actually watched golf since Tiger’s circus event?

Apparently no one—including Phil Mickleson.

Good ole’ Mickey has done NOTHING since Tiger’s hiatus.

So in the end, who needs Tiger?

Well—Elin, their kids, Entertainment Tonight, Nancy Grace, the PGA, golfers, sponsors, and you…

I am not agreeing with what he did. Not at all. But at the same time, he is a human being—we all make mistakes.

Now that his wife has accepted him back, now America has to accept him back. After all, he cheated on her, not us.

So as America banged on Tiger (and his “transgressions”) and celebrated his mistresses, Eldrick Woods sat back and relaxed.

Like always, he never broke a sweat. This should be a lesson from the wise, don’t ever count El Tigre out.

What you SHOULD count out—is his mistresses’ book deals.

How is that working out for them now?

No one cares anymore after Elin said, “I do” a second time.
